Customer Reviews of DVD Cloner 3
not completely flawless certain dvds will sit there and make you wait hours trying to complete but just won't. but for the most part (about 95% of the time) this software does exactly as it says. i had the earlier version DVD cloner 2 which only had 2 options pretty much. you could either burn with or without a menu (including subtitles, extras, scene selection, etc). this one allows you to pick and choose what you want (not completely, but good enough). <

>i recommend using verbatim discs for burning because they seem to lead to the least amount of frisbees. i don't know if it was my burner or the software, but maxwell dvds just suck. for the money though, this is well worth it. it comes with its own decrypting software so you don't have to download anything else so that you CAN in fact copy all those elusive copyrighted discs and make as many back up copies as you want. you can also save the data to your hard drive unlike the previous editions.
This product simply does not work
I wish I could give this product 0 stars, but I can't. DVD Cloner simply does not work and the product support is awful with their 1-liner e-mails. Having researched a number of DVD Copy software products I decided to buy DVD Cloner. I installed the software and immediately ran into problems. It installed something called an ASPI layer and my external Dual Layer Sony DVD burner, disappeared from my system. Ok, so I tried to copy a home movie with the built-in DVD burner (which does not support dual-layer) and the software crashed with message "DVD Cloner has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience". I tried different manufacturers blank DVDs, same problem.

>I sent a mail to the Support and was told the version I downloaded from THEIR site was not the latest and gave me a link to a new version. I uninstalled the old version, downloaded and installed the new version. My Sony DVD burner returned to my system and I tried again to copy a home movie. I was feeling good until the process got to 99%. It ejected my DVD and asked to insert another blank DVD. I was shocked because I knew the home movie was just 3.8Gb. Anyway I inserted the new blank DVD, it spun for a few seconds then asked for another DVD. I did this about 4 times.

>So I sent another mail to support who promptly suggested I buy the DVDs of a different manufacturer. So, the problem is not their software it's the DVDs I was using. I then went out and bought the suggested blank DVDs and started the process again. I then ran the DVD Cloner again and suprise, surpise it worked. Or so I thought. This time the process did complete 100% with no errors, so feeling good again I decide to watch the copied DVD. The copy played for 35 seconds and stopped. At this point, I'm angry now. I decided to compare the files on the copy with the files on the orignal. And as you would guess, the original has 3.8Gb and the copy 1.4Gb. Where did the other files go????

>So I sent another mail to Support. They suggested I uninstall the current software and install version 2.5 - a more 'stable' version. What????? At this point I sent an e-mail demanding my money back. They have not sent me a reply.

>I'm now out of pocket and I still have not being able to copy a simply home movie. Please, under no cicumstances should you buy this software, it simply does not work. I have the e-mail trails to prove.
its not as good as they say....
It will not copy any DVD. -- and the claim that it does is misleading. If You havn't the latest version, you can have probelms when burning--- it will burn to a 100% and not finish, leaving you with a useless DVD.
