Strikingly retro in brushed stainless-steel with black-plastic accents, this 12-cup coffeemaker includes Cuisinart's best brewing technology and premium features for ease and flexibility. The digital clock/timer is programmable for automatically brewing "wake-up" coffee at a selected time and for turning off the warming plate up to four hours in advance. Removing the glass carafe from the warming plate automatically pauses the brewing process for a quick pour, and the warming plate's temperature can be adjusted. For maximum flavor, the machine can be set to brew one to four 5-ounce cups or five to twelve cups, and it includes a charcoal water filter. For convenience, a permanent Gold Tone filter eliminates messy paper filters and an indicator-light shows when decalcification is needed. The coffeemaker measures 14-1/4 inches high, 8 inches wide, and 10-3/4 inches deep (including carafe handle) and carries a three-year warranty against defects. --Fred Brack

 Cuisinart Coffee Maker
The Cuisinart 12-cup coffeemaker we ordered through Amazon has proven to be an excellent addition to our kitchen appliances. It's attractive, easy to use, and consistently brews very good coffee. I o question though whether it's necessary to change the filter monthly at a cost of $3.00 a pop!
 Not for 1-4 cup (1 Real Cup) Batches
I'm usually the only one who drinks coffee so I choose this coffee maker primarily due to the 1-4 cup setting hoping that it would make a nice robust small batch of coffee.

>I must say that I'm very disappointed. When making a 4 "coffee maker" cup batch, the coffee maker fails to extract much flavor from the grinds. Instead you end up with a cup of hot water that vaguely tastes like coffee.

The first coffee maker that was shipped to me did not work at all. I plugged it in and nothing happened. Both coffee makers were shipped in the manufacturers box which was damaged upon arrival. The second coffee maker has worked so far however the top lid doesn't close tightly and that's a little disappointing because I think it may cool the water slightly.
