Customer Reviews of Crunch - Cardio Salsa
Cardio Salsa I love this workout. As a former workout junkie starting up again, this dvd had everything I was looking for. It's fast paced, fun and the time flies by. There are a few comments that the dance steps are hard to learn. Look at it this way, you won't get bored after a week. A key to learning cardio/dance routines is to listen to the instructors que and this instructor is great about that. So don't give up, hang in there, you'll get it. Some are upset that they didn't learn how to dance salsa. There is a fair amount of salsa steps. However, this is a workout session not a dance class. There are comments that the workout isn't challenging enough. Isn't that the point of working out? To get stronger and move on to something more challenging? This is a great intermediate video and as good a place to start as any. One reviewer stated that the women look like strippers. They don't look like any strippers I have seen. They look like neighbors, soccer moms, college students and co-workers. I have ten year old Jane Fonda tapes I can sell to those who don't like a challenge and are easily offended. The rest of us will be having fun.
A great workout!
This is a lot of fun. It's great if you like something a little different from the ordinary. I get bored easily, so each week I switch around between hatha/kundalini yoga, TaeBo Cardio, Tae Bo Master Blaster (with weights) and dancing/jump rope/Nordictrack (I did say I get bored, yes?). And my work requires that I be able to lift/carry 40 lbs. I don't have the time to go to a fitness center and don't care to get all jazzed up to do so. I prefer to do my own thing at home and this program is perfect for that. I've done okay by watching my diet and using this and the other videos/DVDs.
The instructor is energenic and vibrant, and although I'm a total klutz when it comes to learning dance moves, she goes about it at a nice enough pace that after a few sessions I even got the hang of it. The warmup works smoothly into the following routines. The beat of the music fits well with the moves, and you just have to have fun doing it! The 40 minutes goes by so fast it's amazing.
If you're looking for a very fast paced, aerobic, "take your breath away" exercise routine, this is *not* it. But if you're looking for something to work that heart, limber up and shed some calories along the way, try it!
I just returned this video
I buy a lot of exercise videos and consider myself pretty coordinated, but this video was rediculous. It's dance based and Giselle combines some moves that don't really flow together. I also had a hard time understanding Giselle as she does have a little accent. I didn't feel she described the moves very well. Perhaps if you have a strong dance background this video would be appropriate, otherwise pick up Fat Burning Pilates.
