Mommy Dearest and an ugly sister
Reading Cruel Deception made me think of the famous "Mommy Dearest" movie and later Cinderella and one of her ugly sisters.This memoir chronicles the no-win life situation of a person who desperately wants love and acceptance, only to find ridicule and chilling brutality as a way of family life. To say that the mother and father and later the sister need to be locked away in institutions is being kind. What a story of hope though to many others who are cursed with being born into families that don't have a clue as to what a family is supposed to be about. The writing is exceptional. I read this book in a day. My congratulations to the author for having the courage to write her story and the strength to break the cycle. BRAVO! <
