Customer Reviews of Crochet Monthly
difficultly getting my subscription in 2006 i ordered crochet monthly. i was billed in august 2006 on my credit card. i received oct, nov, dec and jan. after jan 2007 i did not received an issue for feb and mar. in late march 2007 i called the number on my credit card. the first rep. i spoke to said he would check the problem and get back to me. no return call. about 2 weeks later i made a second call to the 1800#. i got a different rep. i was told by this rep. that the problem was with the mail and he would restart my subscription immediately. i received april's copy on 4/28/2007. i am still missing copies for feb and mar of 2007. i hope i do not have this problem again with the balance of my subscription or i will contact the better business office
Now I know what happened to Magic Crochet AND Decorative Crochet!
From the beginning I started collecting both issue #1 of Magic Crochet & Decorative Crochet. I was drawn first by the diagrams which helped me thru some of the more elabrate worded patterns then found I loved them. Once I moved in the late 1980's I couldn't find either issue for several years. I really missed both not just for the diagrams but they have some of the best patterns and the photograghy was some of the best!

>The Magic Crochet started changing in the lated 80's with a few doll patterns. Just one of two a issue not much to complain about, but then they started adding other things not having anything to do with crochet. I should have seen the writing on the wall. I had my Decorative Crochet issues which to me were far better and a friend from Australia introduced me to a publication there called Australian Crochet which became - Yes - Crochet Monthly! I actually have the first 4 issues written in the UK version.

>It's a sad thing that Magic Crochet just died as a crochet magazine. It showed up on the shelves suddenly changed over to a quilter's/sewer's even tho the title still stayed the same. I kept picking up a few issues hoping they were experimenting plus I was also into quilting but even I grew tired of the direction they were heading and the stores no longer carry it.

>I Still buy Crochet Monthly as it does have good patterns, but it's not the same. Shame
unsatisfactory service
I sent in a subscription to Magic Crochet (which is now Crochet Monthly) over a year ago and received only one magazine. The magazine itself is great but, trying to deal with the company is a nightmare! I never received any response to any of my correspondences sent to the company. I felt very ripped off as, this magazine is on the expensive side. It's better to buy them at a book or retail store; that way at least you know you'll have it!
