Customer Reviews of Crash
My book review of Crash There is a kid name Crash Coogan. He tells us about his life with a kid name Penn Webb whom he did not like. Penn Webb moves to Pennsylvania from North Dakota in first grade. When Crash first saw this kid he thought he was a dork because he was a vegetarian and a Quaker who buys his clothes from Second Time Around. Penn Webb is a cheerleader and a nice person to everyone. Crash is mean and picks on Penn. Mike moves in during sixth grade. Crash and Mike end up being friends and together they torment Penn. Then later on in seventh grade, Scooter moves in with Crash's family. Unfortunately something happens and Scooter ends up in the hospital. Crash is sad because his grandfather is not there and he misses spending time with him. This is the point that Crashes starts to change. You should read the book to see how Crash acts and who he ends up being friends. Also, you can see how his life goes on with his family.
When I read this book with my classmates and teacher it was pretty boring in the beginning of the book, but as I read it got funnier. I liked the way Jerry Spinelli expressed the characters feelings. I also liked that Crash was a football player who was popular and cool kid. Penn Webb was funny especially when he had a button that said "flickertail" on the front of his shirt. All I really want to say is that I was excited to read the book everyday, so you should definitely read it.
Crash! review
A Quaker is someone who doesn't believe in violence. Penn Webb, the dorky, geeky, neighbor
Of John (Crash) Coogan is a Quaker. Crash, the main character and narrator goes through many changes
Throughout the story of this book that spans seven years. Penn moves to Pennsylvania where Crash lives
In first grade and when Crash first saw him with his buttons that said "Flickertail" or "Peace," he
Immediately knew they wouldn't be friends. When they enter sixth grade, Crash's would be best friend
Mike Deluca moves to the neighborhood and have fun pulling pranks on Webb because he is considered
A "nerd."
Fastforward to seventh grade and you'll see Crash and Mike are star football players of their
School. This fiction book is high in standards in its genre. I recommend this book to every and anyone
Who likes reading books. It was very good in my opinion because books like this usually take me about
Two to three days. It took me only one day to finish this page-turner! It was also easy to concentrate
On reading this book because it's easy to understand and you won't find any large words that you would
Need to scramble for a dictionary.
I would like to write a brief summary of the plot so here it is for this great book. After the events
Of the three children moving into the neighborhood and going to seventh grade, Mike and John (Crash) are
The popular jocks of the school. But, when a new girl comes to school, Crash finds himself in love. The
New girl, Jane Forbes, doesn't like Crash because he acts like a jerk at a school dance but she likes Webb
Which really gets him mad. As he goes for football tryouts, Webb goes for cheerleading and he's
Accepted! During the course of the year and when Mike takes a prank too far (which I will not give away)
Crash starts to realize if he wants to be who he is or if he wants to be who he should be. This book is a
Really good story and if you know how to read, you should read it!
Great Book
It was a great book. One of my favorite books. I think it is Spinelli's best book.
