"Real Folk Blues" marks the end of Cowboy Bebop, arguably the most stylish and sophisticated anime series in recent years. This last adventure will leave viewers with the same sense of loss they experienced when the first Star Wars trilogy ended. Although no further television episodes are planned, a feature is in the works. Fans can look forward to seeing their favorite Space Cowboy in the not-too-distant future.
Not rated: suitable for ages 13 and up for nudity, violence, adult situations, and unflattering ethnic characterizations. --Charles Solomon

Customer Reviews of Cowboy Bebop - Session 6
An end to one of the BEST series ever to grace the screen Cowboy Bebop was truly one of the finest works of art ever to grace a television set. Heralding some of the best animation, fluid and detailed, a perfectly fitting soundtrack, interesting characters and some of the wackiest adventures ever told. Alas, this great series has reached its end.
I am SURE that no one wanted it to end. Not this soon at least. Its only been 24 episodes! (25 and 26 are a joint episode) Cowboy Bebop has remained faithful to its viewers, even more to itself. Gracing us with vivid images of an interesting future, incredibly involving character portraits, stunning space battle scenes, breathtaking gungfights, and the welcomed breaks of wacky humor. The last DVD will not disappoint. However, it will leave you feeling empty, saddened to see it go. No one wants this to end. And not this way, either. Once the series ends, you will forever miss each one of the crew, Ed and Ein, Faye, Spike and Jet. Nothing will ever be the same without all 5 of these wonderful characters together. Lose one, you lose the whole crew.
For those of you aching for more, there WILL be a movie slated for release sometime in 2001. Unfortunately, if you wanted it to continue the story, or at least make you feel like its moving along, you'll be sorely disappointed. The movie takes place between the 5th session and the last disc. Oh well. Im still up for seeing it.
By far, this has to be one of the best sessions ever put out. I recommend it. If your looking for action, this is a must. If your looking for humor, this is a must. if your looking for music, this is also a must. Buy the thing.
A great ending to a great anime!
I'll tell you the truth, I'm not really much of an anime fan. I kinda thought it was dumb...But then I saw Cowboy Bebop on TV. It was just...cool! So I decided to get the series on DVD. It took me a while, but I eventually got to the last session. These four episodes are spectacularly done. The gem of Session 6; however, is the last two episodes themselves, which I look at as one whole episode. "Real Folk Blues" has to be the most action packed episode, and includes an incredible story. The ending is shocking. Everyone who has seen it will agree, but it was a just ending... There are some forshadowing... Anyway the other two episodes, "Brain Scratch," and "Hard Luck Woman," are also really good episodes. Cowboy Bebop redefined Anime to me. They're not some silly cartoons, but fun wastes of time (and that's not in the negative)! I love Bebop!
Top Episodes:
1. Real Folk Blues: Session 6
2. Cowboy Funk: Session 5
3. Mushroom Samba: Session 4
4. Jupiter Jazz (1 & 2): Session 3
5. Ballad of Fallen Angels: Session 1
a painfully fitting ending...
*sigh* it comes down to this... the end of the road with cowboy bebop... THE most artistic and original anime series to date. I'm not going to say that its everything we were hoping for for our favorite bounty hunters, but i will say its a fitting ending... a shocking bitter sweet ending but a fitting ending none the less. Spike sums it up nicely in the last line of the series... "Bang"
