Customer Reviews of Corel WordPerfect Office 12 Home Edition
Microsoft Word this isn't. Not as good as Word, and not as inexpensive as it once was.
Great package
This is a great software package. Wordperfect is very nice. It writes and reads Microsoft Word documents as well as its own format. The same goes for QuatroPro/Excel. I really like the feature in WordPerfect that allows you to see the behind-the-scenes code in a Wordperfect document. If you've ever had MS Word do something really crazy with the formatting and you couldn't get it straightened out and finally had to cut/paste your text into a new document, the behind-the-scenes look at the code will allow you to spot exactly where the problem is and change it without the extra hassle. And if you think that's too much for you, try it out for a while with the code turned on(it appears at the bottom of the screen). You'll learn pretty quickly what WordPerfect uses to code your documents and be able to spot errors easily if they pop up.

>The only thing additional thing I could want in an office suite is a scheduling email program and that arena belongs to Microsoft. However, Novell will be releasing Evolution for windows soon enough and it will compete(or attempt to compete) with Outlook. We'll see how it goes...

>Meanwhile, the home edition is, in fact, labelled "home" edition and everyone should know to read the labels before buying anything.
WARNING: FOR NON-COMMERCIAL USE ONLY!
I bought this for my office without realizing that this home version is for NON-COMMERCIAL USE ONLY. I had no way of knowing that when I bought it - nowhere in the product description is this indicated. I only realized this after ordering the item and reading the fine-print by accident on one of the side-panels on the box. It's written so obscurely that I'm lucky I noticed it at all. I would have returned the package immediately, but I already opened the shrink-wrap. Complete waste of money for me.
