Customer Reviews of Cool Mist Filter
Filters get brown and crusty I had no problems finding the filters (as noted here, at Walmart - where I HATE to shop). BUT no matter what I do with the humidifier - add the recommended cleaning agent, clean it regularly, use filtered water, etc, I always get a white crusty build up on the filter quickly. It turns brown - fast (which supposedly means you have to replace it). And it grows a fungus. Not sure any other humidifers are better, but YUCK. I hate it.
Amazon now carries Holmes H620 Microban Filter
We just discovered that our filter needed to be replaced so I looked up the replacement here. After reading the reviews, I was happy to discover that the Holmes H620 Microban Filter appears to be a valid replacement. So I looked at the Walgreens website per the suggestion of a review. The Holmes H620 Microban Filter was showing 8. 99 but Out Of Stock. I have not checked the local stores.

>However, when I searched Amazon for the Holmes H620 Microban Filter, it appeared that Amazon has just started carrying this filter for just under 10. While it is higher that Walgreens, you get free shipping for orders over $25 and if you need to buy alot, you can use coupons like the current one showing on the page. (Save 25 on your order today when you spend 125 on Kitchen & Housewares or Bed & Bath products)

This is the WORST humidifier EVER!! DONT BUY IT!
I want to know what kind of baby company sells a humidifier "for babies" and then makes the filter (that retails foor about 1/4 of the price of the humidifier! Obnoxious!)completely unavailable? We had our baby in late March, so it was the end of the season for humidifiers. We had to get one for her because she caught this nasty New England cold that was going around (which I had at her birth). The evenflo humidifier was the only one available. I wish I could send it back because I think that is such a horrible business practice. Parents need to get such items as vaporizers and humidifiers for sick children, and when a company makes it impossible to find the necessary components, they should be reported to the BBB (which I think I may do). Also, the filters stink, they turn brown and yucky within a few weeks. My suggestion? Go to Home Depot and get one of their filterless humidifiers.

>But if you do have this horrible excuse for a humidifier, you can use the H620 Microban filters as stated in the above review.
