Customer Reviews of Comfort Me John Lennon Bouncer
Cute but not well-engineered Just like another reviewer, my twins were born early at 33 weeks weighing just over 4 lbs each. Very small and prone to spitting up, my babies' slept in these bouncies after every feeding for the first 3 months to avoid choking. It wasn't until I received a gift of another two bouncies that I realized how much nicer the Fisher Price ones are in many ways as compared to John Lennon:
1) much too upright - have to prop front legs up about six inches so babies' do not flop forwards (Fisher Price bouncies were perfect).
2) batteries - have to find philip's head screwdriver to change batteries (Fisher Price just need coin).
3) vibration unit - after just a couple of weeks, started rattling noisily (Fisher Price nice and quiet).
4) toy bar - while cute to adults, does not attract babies' attention (Fisher Price has mirror and colorful toys babies' love).
5) seat strap - although tightness is adjustable widthwise, the length is too long so I have to roll up a couple of times before clipping (Fisher Price is not adjustable, but is perfect as is).
I think that besides the digital Imagine song (which one can only listen to so much), the fabric is the only nice feature.
It's not THAT bad
I had this bouncer in a different pattern (101 dalmations, I paid almost 25 dollars less for it by the way) for my first son 3 years ago. I does sit up too far, I will say that. But by one month that wasn't an issue. He loved everything about it. And nothing broke on it. Now my second son is almost two months and he hates it, but he also hates the kick and play we bought him. My older still sits in it and watches TV, we've tried to take it away and he screams(LOUD). So in conclusion, some kids just hate bouncers, it's unfair to blame the product just because the kid hates it. Sometimes we need to cut our loses, smile over the wasted money and find something they like better. My second son likes our futon better than anything eles we bought him (swing, playpen ect...) He'll lay there all day if we let him without a peep (except to eat).
Good product
We recieved this bouncer as a shower gift, and though it was not the one that I had registered for, we do really like it. I agree with other reviewers, it is too steep to put a tiny baby into, but by the time my baby was 5 weeks old and around 8 pounds, he really likes it. I can get about a half hour free time, and he loves the toy bar with the animals on it, they hold his attention for long periods of time. He likes the vibration, and water noise, but the music and the "womb" noise are kind of hokey, and after awhile will drive YOU nuts. Over all, I think that he likes it since he can sit up straight and just see more in general than he does from his swing or from laying on a blanket. I would recommend this
