Customer Reviews of Come Together
A great new "offering" from Third Day I have not yet been disappointed with any of Third Day's work, and this is certainly no exception. As a youth group leader, Third Day is one of the few bands that I feel I can recommend without exception.
As for this cd, you're in for a real treat if you are a long time listener or brand new to Third Day. This album combines many different sounds, from pop rock songs with catchy hooks, like "Come Together", and "Forty Days" to powerful ballads such as "Show Me Your Glory" and my favorite song on the album, "I Got You", which is all about making God the center of life, and casting aside the distractions. ("I got You, And You're putting it all together, It doesn't get much better, As far as I can tell") Excellent stuff, theologically sound, very uplifting... buy it now!
Good Gospel Rock
Unfortunately, a lot of "Christian" music sounds exactly the same and I think that is why so many people are put off whenever a certain band has a religious agenda. This is not the case with Third Day. Their songs, while about the Lord, can be interpreted in many ways and can be applicable to certain situations. For example, the song "It's All Right" features Mac Powell singing about how he doesn't worry about tomorrow "for it brings me one more day closer than I was to you." Indeed, he is singing about God, but the lyrics could also be a reference to a goal or an individual. The guitar playing is really good, particularly any acoustic pieces. Some songs have a "congregational" feel, but these really aren't so bad, either. I'd definitely recommend this CD as a starter for anyone who was experimenting with the Christian rock genre.
Classic Third Day
If you don't tell anyone that Third Day plays Christian music, chances are they'll say that they're an excellent and talented rock band, which they are. Too bad secular society turns away from anything "Christian." They don't know what they're missing. Christian music is more powerful and progressive than ever. I never used to think that, but just give this album a listen and you just might form the same opinion as me. My favorite tracks on this CD are: When The Rain Comes; It's Alright, Show Me Your Glory, and Sing Praises.
