Customer Reviews of Combi Connection Infant Car Seat - Carolina Sky
An attractive car seat! We received this carseat as a gift a few weeks after our baby was born a month early. The infant insert worked great for our tiny baby. The seat is relatively lightweight, sturdy, and actually attractive! We used it extensively in a rental car without the base and it was VERY easy to buckle in with the seat belt and it felt very secure. We also love the stroller-car seat combo since it's just about the most compact system out there. <

>I only gave it 4 stars because it doesn't clip into grocery carts. I didn't realize that until I was actually at a store with seat in hand and I had to improvise by placing it sideways in the cart! I'm pretty small (5'1") so it's very hard to see over the car seat when it's in the cart. <

>Overall, an excellent car seat!
it's not ugly!
My favorite thing about this seat is that it's actually not bad to look at. Some patterns on other brands are awful! I have it in Titanium (not from BrU) so it's not very baby like at all. I finally chose this seat after reading several reviews about the Peg Perego being too small for the baby. I wanted to ensure we could get the most use out of our infant seat. We have a Mini Cooper--this seat fits nicely and I can actually ride comfortably up front (I am only 5'2"). I am not bothered by the seat not fitting on a cart--it doesn't seem safe to me anyway and the only time I ever use a cart is at Target or the grocery where I would rather have my daughter in a sling or front pack so I can step away from the cart without worrying. I use this seat in conjunction with the Combi Flash EX car seat carrier and am very pleased with that product as well.
Great infant seat, few issues.
I agree with the Combi Connection infant seat being hard to hold onto. I wish the handle was a bit more ergonomic. It is also pretty heavy and I'm a strong girl. It is super easy to click into and out of the base as well as the stroller. What it is lacking is the indention underneath to make it fit onto a shopping cart. Most seats have a u shaped indention to fit/hang onto the shopping cart metal. This seat has no way to do this, the bottom is straight. You can set the seat sideways in the shopping cart seat, on some carts it feels secure and on some it is wobbly. You can set it with the baby facing you, propped on the back of the toddler seat back and on the front of the cart. On some carts it seems slightly secure and on others completely wobbly. Because the base bottom is straight there is nothing for the cart metal to fit into. And if you are short you can't really see over the seat to steer because of the angle the baby is propped. The only other option is to put the infant seat into the main compartment of the shopping cart allowing you no room to do any real grocery shopping. I find this to be a huge hassle and I wish the seat had those simple grooves to work with the cart better. Besides that I really like it.
