Customer Reviews of Cobra PR4700-2WXVP MicroTalk FRS/GMRS 2 Way Radios
Nice radio, but range as always is exaggerated I bought these radios for backpacking and travel. While they have great features and great voice quality, the range is grossly overexaggerated. All FRS radio manufacturers do this and it should be considered false adverstising, in my opinion. Cobra says the PR4700 has a range of 12 miles, I found the range to actually be around 6 miles over open space and 2-3 miles in the city. It still works for my use, but it makes me wonder what the actual range is of FRS radios that advertise a range of 5 miles? Coming from a guy who works in public safety where we use $500.00 UHF and VHF radios for communication, I can tell you our radios can barely reach 10 miles between portables without a repeater. It would seem unrealistic that any $50.00 FRS radio will ever get close to this range. As long as you keep your expectations reasonable, you'll probably be very happy with this radio.
Cobra walkie talkies
THIS TOY IS GREAT ME AND MY FRIENDS TALK ALL THE TIME IT IS SO MUCH FUN TO FIND PEOPLE TO TALK TOO!!!
nice but big
The new pair of walkie and talkie work well. The water proof feature makes me comfortable. I didn't dip them in the water though. They have more sub codes which eliminate the conflict with other people. The charging dock and batties are good deal.

>The size is bigger than I expected. I don't have the original headset. My old headset for Motorola walkie talkie works. But I can hear the voice from the speaker even when the headset is plugged in. Maybe I should try Cobra headset.
