Customer Reviews of Coastal Living
Very disappointing There is very little content in this glossy publication. Most of the pages are advertisements. Save your money.
Life on a Coastline
Coastal Living is a magazine "for people who love the coast" as its subtitle proudly proclaims. The focus on the material in this magazine is the coastal regions of the United States, with lots of beautiful photographs, family stories, and advice on how to live and thrive in a coastal environment.
Most of the material in Coastal Living revolves around the well- known coastal regions of the United States, like Miami Florida, New York City & Long Island, Boston, The California Coast, Washington, Oregon, and the Gulf of Mexico. General living and entertainment are highlighted, with a special emphasis on the purchasing of property. As you might imagine, the cost of property in these more popular destinations is often through the roof. But they are included anyway because many readers are interested in this type of purchase and those who cannot afford them often like to fantasize.
Coastal Living includes a substantial number of articles on areas that are coastal, but not as well- known, in an effort to keep the magazine balanced. Areas like the Great Lakes, the San Juan Islands in Washington State, and large lakefront areas get a mention in each issue. It is here that readers can often find property that is more affordable and family stories that are much easier for the average person to relate to.
Besides the advertisements for property, Coastal Living features helpful articles that discuss things like homeowners insurance, how to protect your property from water damage, how to decorate, ways to entertain, and other things. It's common to see photographs of families and couples who share their own personal stories about life on the coast.
You don't have to presently live on a major coastline to enjoy Coastal Living. Remember: It's a magazine for people who love the coast; not exclusively for those who live on the coast. It covers vacationing, entertainment, special events, and life in general in a coastal region. The photography in this magazine is great, and the articles are fun and personal, making Coastal Living a magazine that is worth the money.
