Nice but hard to clean.
I've had this bird feeder for years, and it's a nice, sturdy feeder. The squirrels leave this one alone, and it has a metal hook on top to hold it in place so they've been unable to chew through that. However, the problem with this feeder is that it's harder to clean than any other feeder I've had. The feeder most definitely does not keep out rain, and the feed will sprout or become moldy very quickly. It's almost impossible then to get it out, even with a brush or soaking the feeder in soapy water. It would be convenient if the plastic inside the caged part of the feeder just slid out for easy cleaning, but it doesn't. It has to be unscrewed. The feeding stations are part of the plastic and are on the inside, so fitting your hand down inside in the plastic is impossible. If the feeder gets dirty, you have to take it apart, unscrewing several small screws, before it can be cleaned.

This would be a very nice feeder to use if you can keep it in a well-protected area out of the weather. Because it is so sturdy, it should then last for years. But if has to be out in rainy weather...forget it.
