Customer Reviews of Classic Albums - Stevie Wonder: Songs in the Key of Life
Songs in the key of todays life If you are a music lover, enjoy the entertainment of a true performer, this tape will find you in good spirits. Stevie and his friends will take you back to 1976 when all you heard on the radio was real music and Stevie topping the charts with one hit after the other, and after all these years they've still got it. It's a video all can enjoy, just like the music this genius has created for so many years.
Excellent insight into Stevie's genius and talent.
"Songs in the Key of Life" is an all-access analysis of one the landmark albums of the 20th century. Stevie, the musicians who participated and staff at the studio treat us to a glimpse back at true magic as many songs are dissected and appreciated from a true inside perspective. It's also amazing to see the heart-warming affect Stevie has on all whom work with him. There are many moments of awe and admiration as his collegues refer to the "spirituality" and "gift of kindness" that Stevie unfolds to everybody. This video is an excellent snapshot of all that is Stevie Wonder. If your not a huge fan, you will be after this tour de force!
Great Overview
This was really informative and interesting. The only problem I really had with it was the fact that Stevie didn't speak as much as I would have liked. I am more than a little intrigued by him and would have enjoyed listening to him talk about his ideas and views on the issues he expressed in the songs more. I was aware of his sense of humor which was touched on a bit throughout the film. He's an interesting character and I really was expecting a bit more from him actually (Berry Gordy and Quincy Jones' comments minimalized would have been great). They didn't cover all the songs which would I was surprised about. A couple of my favorites, Joy inside my Tears and All Day Sucka were not mentioned AT ALL and these are not classics, as singles, but worthwhile to talk about, I thought. Anyway, if one is a fan of Stevie, a true fan, and owns the album, having this documentary is a must.
