Circulon Classic cookware is constructed of hard-anodized nonstick material, a surface that’s twice as hard as stainless steel. It’s also among the most efficient heat-distributing materials, using its aluminum core to spread heat evenly throughout the bottom of the pan and up the sides. Despite its durability, the cookware is light enough to transfer from stovetop to oven without hassle, unlike weighty cast-iron cookware. The trademark feature of Circulon Classic cookware is its Hi-Low grooves, a nonstick interior surface that emulates (in looks anyway) the concentric age lines of a large tree. The grooves protect the pan’s surface and, when combined with DuPont’s Autograph nonstick coating, keep food from sticking to any part of the pan. The Low grooves are also durable enough to handle the harsh edges of metal utensils, though it’s recommended to use wooden utensils for the Hi grooves. The cookware also features stay-cool phenolic handles that are oven-safe to 350 degrees F and high-domed stainless-steel lids polished to a fine luster (the lids fit tightly to seal in nutrients and flavors). I LOVE this skillet! I bought this skillet many months ago to replace an EXPENSIVE non-stick dutch oven that had not held up over the course of its use. At the price the Circulon skillet was offered, I figured that I could replace it in a few months if necessary- but I am so pleased to report that it is holding up beautifully! I use it at least once a day, and I am so pleased with its performance. I have had great success cooking a variety of dishes in it- sauces, browning meat, even a frittata that went from stove to oven. Food does not stick to it, it browns nicely on medium heat, it is SO ROOMY, and clean up is quick and easy. I highly recommend this item.
GREAT COOKWARE
I AM SLOWLY GETTING THE SET THIS IS MY SECOND PIECE AND I LOVE IT. CLEAN UP IS SO FAST AND EASY. MY OTHER ITEM IS THE PASTA POT AND I HAVE NOT HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH IT. BEING ABLE TO STRAIN IT RIGHT IN THE POT WITH THE LID IS SO A BONUS. I AM LOOKING TO BUY THE WHOLE SET.
An anchor in my kitchen
This pan is a mainstay in my kitchen. It requires less fat to brown; it heats evenly and in reasonable time; it washes like a dream. It has good weight, handles high heat as reasonably as low heat. The lid fits nicely. In fact, if you follow a recipe faithfully, turning up or down the heat as directed, the pan delivers the results you seek. Do not use metal utensils in order to keep it happy. I use this for recipes calling for dutch ovens, like seafood stews and coq au vin. Highly recommended.
