Anyone whos ever played a beat-'em-up will know the basic rules of the genre--hit your opponent until they fall down--but Capcom vs. SNK 2 EO adds additional options that will keep fans happy for months. There are six different fighting styles (or grooves), a terribly complex ratio system for choosing a team of up to three fighters (although oddly theres no tag option), and a veritable feast of minor options and game modes.
Basically, if you like this sort of thing, youll absolutely love Capcom vs. SNK 2 EO--except theres a rather big "but" coming up. As you may have noticed, the GameCubes controller isnt really very well suited to this sort of game, so Capcom has created a rather odd alternative control system that puts all the special moves within easy reach on the C-stick. Hard-core fans are likely to upchuck at the very thought, but it is relatively playable in a shallow, Mortal Kombat kind of way. The normal six-button control method is still included, but it really only works if you can use a proper arcade-style joystick with it. --David Jenkins

Customer Reviews of Capcom vs. SNK 2 EO for Nintendo GameCube
Yes the controls bring it down 2 stars! This is a fighting game of fighting games, it is superior in ranking above all other fighting games, well except 7 or 8. So why give it a mediocre 3 star review, simple my readers, the freaking controlls are not meant to be, why make this game for the NGQ, I mean, yeah, the EO Mode takes away the chalange, but have you ever thought for one second that THE REASON WHY THEY PUT THE EO MODE ON X-B AND NGQ AND NOT PS2 IS BECAUSE OF THE CONTROLLS BEING A BIT OF A PISSER AND GIVING IT MORE CHALANGE THAN NEEDED! Even though, you can get used to the controls, and when you do, the EO Mode is very pointless to begin with in the 1st place, why CAPCOM, why! Even though it's a great game to play, but rent 1st!
The Best game ever
I am a nerd and i don't really like games, but this game is extremely cool. There are over 40 of the cooles characters. It is a 2D game it is cool.Well this is Jesus Rico from Santa Susana
Capcom vs. SNK
When Street Fighter 2 came out for Super Nintendo, I was all over it!! The buttons were simple and, with the help of my little brother, the moves were easy to execute.
Now here comes Capcom vs. SNK for the Gamecube. The only reason why I picked this up was because I loved the Street Fighter game and there were more people to fight. I was so excited as I put the CD into the console, awaiting to fight.
After configuring the controls and much tutoring from my little brother, I got adjusted to it. I then realized that either there are so many buttons that you need to use to execute special moves or this controller is so complicated. Even after configuring the buttons, it's still difficult. The arcade mode is terrible!! Come on!! You only fight 8 to 10 people? There's almost 50 people in the game and you only fight 8?? I play the Survival mode for a different challenge.
The grooves and the modes are even more complicated.
If you like fighting games where you have to use a million buttons to execute a move, then this is your game. Otherwise, I think the game is OK. I don't think that the Gamecube controller is suitable for this game.
