Customer Reviews of Canon PIXMA MP500 Photo All-In-One Printer
wow! I had decided to replace my Dell printer since it seemed to have more issues than not, as well as the fact that I went through ink (which wasn't cheap) like there was no tomorrow. I researched the web seeking a decent printer for a decent price that would be more economical in terms of ink. <

>Alas, this printer popped up time and again. <

>I'm happy it did! This printer has all the bells and whistles, is easy to use, affordable, does a great job whether printing documents or photos, and is much more efficient at its use of ink!
The best printer I have ever owned
I bought this printer from a local retail store. Due to the cheap price, I assumed that it would have average print quality, etc. You get what you pay for, right?

>...the list goes on and on. It's a great buy, especially if you get a good price on it. I told my dad about this printer and he wanted to try one out for size. He bought one for himself and uses it at his office. He has not had any problems either.

>The other user, who posted a comment, must have gotten a lemon. Either that, or it was some type of user error (no offense intended)
Made by the second little pig
I bought this printer in April after reading many positive reviews. It was easy to set up--even for a "technophobe" like me. I managed to get it to execute all its functions (text printing, photo printing, scanning and copying) without calling one of my children for help. Like any inkjet printer, it seems like I had to replenish the ink supply all too soon--but that goes with the territory.

>Then, the other day, I tried to print something off the web and up comes this message on my computer screen, "Service error 6B10" I turned off the unit and disconnected the power cord as suggested by the manual but I kept getting that message. Then I called tech support (also suggested by the manual). After a mercifully short hold time of a minute or two, a pleasant technician had me verify that there was no paper jam and then told me that my unit would need servicing.

>Since it was still under warranty, I could have Cannon ship me a refurbished model and I could ship them back my printer or I could take it to a computer repair shop and have them fix it at Cannon's expense. I chose the second option.

>These printers have been out for less than a year and already Canon has a supply that have had to be "refurbished." This makes me think that this model has some real design flaws or, as I said to the tech support person, it's junk.
