This moderately sized, deep, round-sided skillet is like a flat-bottomed wok, perfect for stir-frying and designed to facilitate a chef's C-shaped flipping motion. Because it exposes lots of surface compared to the diameter of its bottom (it's 6 inches at the bottom, 9 inches across the top), the 2-quart skillet is also ideal for quickly reducing sauces. Though not nonstick, like some Calphalon cookware, the matte-finish pan is anodized for stick-resistance as well as hardness. Metal utensils won't harm the surface. Contoured, textured handles of cast stainless steel resist heating on the stovetop, go safely into the oven, and are triple-riveted for durability and balance. Notches in the handles facilitate hanging on a hook or a peg. Made of heavy-gauge aluminum, the pan cooks without hot spots or warping and carries a lifetime warranty against defects. --Fred Brack

 Great chrismas present
I bought this for a gift, and my daughter was thrilled! Great size, great price, great item. This was one heck of a deal, and Calphalon makes one heck of a pan. Super!
 Eggs Stick
This pan sticks. Doesn't matter how you follow the manufacturer's instructions, put oil, clean it well, no cold food, it still sticks. I've tried all ranges of temp to cook it on and there's no difference. Waste of money, All-Clad makes much better products. I've also used cheap non-stick surfaces and they work much better than this skillet for frying eggs. And it's a pain to clean. I still have not been able to scrub off the oil residue on the edges of my pan.

this cookware works much the same way as cast iron, as in heating and sticking isn't a problem if you know how to cook. I think all new cookware needs a seasoning time and this is no different. The more I use is the better it seems to work. The only problem I have is that the larger 12" everyday skillet still isn't here yet. This size is great for cooking for one or smaller quanitities.
