This 12-inch everyday pan will end up being the hardest working pan in your kitchen. It is ideal for everything from simmering stovetop succotash and braising brisket to browning Dutch pancakes or cooking fruit tarts. Part of Calphalon's Commercial Hard-Anodized line of cookware, this pan is made of heavy-gauge aluminum that's uniformly thick across the bottom and sides, allowing for quick and even heat distribution. Its durable hard-anodized finish is stick- and scratch-resistant and won’t react with acidic foods. The patented cast stainless-steel handles are comfortable to grip, plus they minimize heat transfer so handles stay cool on the stovetop. Handles are held in place by three sturdy stainless-steel rivets. The included hard-anodized lid is dome-shaped, making it ideal for moist-heat cooking. The cookware and lid are oven-safe up to 450 degrees F so you can transfer a frittata to the oven for browning without having to switch pans.  Not bad
I got this because it looked like a good deal during a Friday sale at Amazon. I still think it was a good deal, but I find myself using my Calphalon Contemporary pans much more often.
 Excellent all-around pan - versatile & reasonably priced
This is an outstanding product. Works great on the stove for stir frys, sauces, steaming, searing, poaching, etc... Also excellent for roasting in the oven. It's lightweight, which is good for handling, though not as good as cast iron for blackening. Works extremely well for everything else though and cleans up easily. I don't give 5 stars lightly. This is a must-have pan IMHO for anyone who enjoys cooking.

>A tip to pass along: Over time (~6 months), the bottom tends to bow a little. That can be easily fixed by flipping it over on a sturdy board, putting another board or a pot holder on the bottom, and tapping it back to flat with a hammer.

Very useful
I use this pan on top of the stove and in the oven, so it really is a good pan to have. It works great for braising.
