I've seen the bad reviews- This is not one of them I bought this system, as a cheaper way to replace my broken remote. My CS2000 would not recognize the new remotes. I called Tech support and got voice mail. Very shortly got a call back(surprised!) I described what my older system was- CS 2000 series 1 and he replied the remotes were incompatible. Discussing to buy remotes from him or maybe me installing the new one, he recommended installing, as the connectors were almost fully compatible except for shock sensor, which I replaced anyway.(surprise #2, he did not try to sell me new remotes.) Never rushing the conversation, answering my questions, told me to call back if I needed any help.(Didn't nor would I expect to). <

Good alarms need to have several characteristics, the only one I cannot predict yet, is the reliability of the unit, other than to say it worked. Time will tell the rest. The shock sensor is I think where other reviews failed to blame the installer. Because attached to the dashboard frame, I was easily able to set it, test it and it works when I think it should. The horn having multi-tonal patterns, I know its my alarm, its loud enough, the warning alarm does not last very long as to annoy residents nearby, but long enough to make its point. And when I pound the car to set it off, its oh so good, if you get my drift. <
