CHiPs Season 1 - "FAR OUT"
I grew up watching CHiPs in my elementary school years. This show is a underrated TV classic. It's been awhile since I watched CHiPs as its no longer on TV in the US. One thing I forgot is how truly funny and entertaining this show is. Not just unintentionally funny, although it has those moments too. The late 70s/early 80s vibe, the cars, stunts, beautiful girls, athletic events, great music, disco cheesiness, freeze frame endings...need I go on?? Ponch, Jon, Gatraer,Baricza, Grossie,Harlan, Turner, Bonnie...what else do you need??

>This DVD is awesome, i just got it yesterday and I already watched 5 out of the 22 episodes. While I was thinking the viewing experience might be cheapened without late night tv ads, they keep the fade in/fade outs for commercials, and its not bad at all. In some ways its better to not have to watch commercials.

>It has the season 1 theme song which is more jazzy, less disco, but still good. The in-show music is excellent as always.
<
>On some episodes you can select to have Estrada do a little intro, talking about the episode, pretty cool. In one episode, one of the characters was the other actor that had made it to the final selection to play Ponch. Hes a big, tall white guy with curly brown hair, blue eyes, big jaw, maybe Italian. Im glad they didnt pick him, he just did not look like a Ponch. He would not have fit Ponchs carefree fun loving demeanor just by his appearance.

>Anyways, it definitely was a worthwhile purchase. If you are a fan, please buy, without enough purchases they may not release Season 2(so ive heard)

One of my Guilty Pleasures!!
This is probably one of my all time favorites. Sure, it's not Shakespeare; but it's highly entertaining; none the less.

>This DVD set is nothing short of amazing; the picture is crystal clear; not digitally remastered; but it's in great shape. The audio is clear too. It looks like Ted Turner had a hand in this; I have to take my hat off to him and Warner; these are the network television releases; uncut and unedited; like they should be!

>There are six disks; easy to navigate through; unfortunately there are no English subtitles. But there is the all important; "Play All" feature.
<
>Some of the episodes have an opening introduction by Erik Estrada. It would have been nice to have Larry or Erik doing commentary; but I guess you can't have everything.

>All in all; this is a great set and judging by the way it's selling in the stores in my area; the other seasons should soon follow.
