Customer Reviews of Brotherhood of Wolf (Dub Spec Sub)
Not too bad!!!! I was surprised by this film. It wasn't too bad and I was interested through out the movie and I can't say that for a lot of horror films these days.
Brotherhood Of The Wolf--Shocking!
The collaboration between director Christophe Gans and cinematographer Dan Laustsen results in a thrilling movie. Said to be the highest grossing French film in history-the movie opens and closes with the French Revolution. A Marquis (Jeremie Renier) tells the true story of the Beast of Gevaudan that terrorized the central mountains of southwest France in the mid-18th century. The movie's dark undertones begin at the first scene with an innocent peasant woman attacked by an invisible ferocious beast. We then see peasants being accosted by French militia. But the peasants are not so innocent. A handsome biologist, explorer, scientist, Envoy Chevalier Grgoire de Fronsac (Samuel Le Bihan) knight of the Kings Garden, rides out of the mist on his steed to subdue them. And as it is still being speculated if the Beast of Gevaudan is supernatural or real, the King of France has sent Fronsac, and his Iroquois blood brother Mani (Mark Dacascos) from New France (Canada), do the impossible-Kill The Beast that is ravaging the French countryside.

>The mythical qualities, incredulous events, well-choreographed martial arts action sequences courtesy of the talented Mark Dacascos, and drama as well as suspense, keeps the viewer riveted. Scenes like a dead nude woman lying encrusted in snow after being bitten; a night in a brothel (nudity); a beautiful raven haired prostitute `fortune teller' Sylvia (Monica Belluci) and her magical morbid methods of `saving' Fronsac, prove disturbing. When Mani falls; Fronsac finds himself fighting forces stronger than a mere beast -He is soon waging a war against the hypocrisy of cult members involved in political intrigues and a diabolical conspiracy with the beast's grim, twisted master. Though Fronsac must depend on Sylvia to get him out of his perils, it is his love for the sweet innocent Wolf Huntress Marianne de Morangias (milie Dequenne) that redeems him. `I often thought of Grgoire and Marianne during all those quiet years that slowly brought me to the old age.' Says Old Thomas the Marquis in the end. 'I never saw them again. And I like to think that they lived happy, far away from here.' And I hope so too.

Awful
No matter how georgous the costuming, special effects or actors are, it doesn't matter when the plot is awful, the script is painful to hear (see, I guess, as is in Subtitles) and the pacing/editing is uneven and unsatisfying. Surrealism and Imagination are great, but they need to be backed up by some form of Quality Control. Just becuause something is new, does not make it good.
