Each Quattro system supports two bases, allowing you to expand the coverage area or increase the number of cordless or Brother CTS- 410 executive phones in use simultaneously. The base unit can handle up to four separate lines; the included line cord manager lets you customize the installation of the base unit and other equipment. You can, for example, connect four lines using four single-line RJ-11 wall jacks, or through two RJ-14 dual- line wall jacks. If you plan to use two base units, you'll need to set the second station's ID number as number two.
We found the CTS-400 DU's range and reception to be exceptional, experiencing little or no interference even when well out of the base station's line of sight.
If you're looking for a telephone system that's reliable and easy to set up, Brother's CTS-400 DU base station provides a strong foundation. --John Frederick Moore

Customer Reviews of Brother CTS-400-DU 900 MHz Digital Quattro 4-Line Cordless Base Unit
Very good except the range is terrible This phone is almost perfect. It has all the features you might want, is easy to use, and priced reasonably.
Unfortunantly, it has the smallest range of any cordless phone I've ever tried. Even 15 feet from the base station my reception isn't perfect. At 75 feet it is unusable.
Two caveats: I haven't checked the manual to see if there is a magic incantation that's required to get it to work properly. I have only played with two base stations and three handsets so I may have just had bad luck.
