Customer Reviews of Britax Esprit Blue Blaze
Not intended for tall kids! If I knew then what I know now, I would not have purchased. <
>I too researched, read the reviews, and (thought I) knew what I was looking for. I bought this stroller when my tot was only 18 months. She was already too tall (as many other reviewers noted) for the goofball design of the seatback. Just seems they could have given it a bit more thought and user testing. I would have rated it lower but the stroller is in fact light-weight, easy to fold/use. Although the overall seat design is flimsy, both the back and the legs are adjustable. The bunch of fabric that others refer to is also an annoyance to me, especially when my now 28 month old is napping (though she doesn't seem to care). <

Great in concept, but disappointed.
This stroller has all the features I was looking for hood, pocket on the back of the hood, basket, reclines, padded handles, some color, and very inexpensive. (only paid $[...] for it on clearance) easy to push, like the size of the wheels, folds well, locks easily, and has a little carry handle.

>However, there are some odd things about it, that I wish I had known before purchasing. I bought the blue blaze (blue with red accent). Accross the top/back of the seat is a strange band of fabric. I noticed in one of the photos the solid red does not have it. Not sure what it is supposed to do, but it kind of flaps on my son's head (he is a long 2 year old). The pull string is too long and when the back is up all the way, the string hangs down to the basket the center back between the handles. When the seat is up, because of the lack of back support it arches the top back of the seat (head/shoulder area). If you reconcile yourself to thinking it's like a hammock, then it's ok. The wheel just started squeaking during the 2nd or 3rd use. My husband says there's nothing I can do about it, but haven't really looked at it myself. I could overlook those things, but the biggest problem for me is that the handles are too short--several inches below my previous umbrella. That's a supper bummer and uncomfortable. I'm only 5'6", but my husband is 6'2". When I went to into the store to shop today, I found the Chicco ct0.5 has all the features I could want, with the taller handles. That is also comparable in price. Think I'll try to sell this one and get the Chicco.
Could find better
I bought this stroller in red after doing a ton of research. After owning it for almost a year, I am not very happy with it. My 3 year old is too tall for the backrest and this piece of fabric cuts into his neck making it very uncomfortable. My 10 month old baby is also uncomfortable in it. He can't sit up enough in it (poor support). The drawstring is not easy to use with a child in the stroller. It is also very hard to close. It takes two hands and then some. It turns great and the fabric is heavy. Also it stays upright even with multiple bags hanging on the handles. The storage is sufficient and I like the bottle pocket. I haven't had anything break on it. Major drawback is how uncomfortable my children are in it.
