Not very practical I have purchased most of the Silver Lining items for my son's nursery but these are a definite no. I saw them in the store and just loved them; they are absolutely adorable. But when I picked them up and examined them, I was extremely disappointed. They are really quite useless. As the previous reviewers noted, they don't weigh enough to support any books and there was practically no padding on the bottom. They gave 4 stars for their cuteness. As a decoration I would give them 5 stars, because they really are cute and I was tempted to get them anyway, but as bookends they get none. I expected much better for the price.
really cute, just needs pads on bottom
only suggestion is to add better non slip pads on the bottom of the bookends so that they don't slide when you take something out from between.
Cute but need more weight
These are adorable as a decorative piece but they don't have enough weight to firmly hold more than a very few light childrens books on their own. I put them up on a shelf holding about 6 very thin books and almost got clobbered in the head one day when they fell over on me. I just wish they were more functional.
