Didn't expect to get a gender-specific slipcover The "bonus slipcover" pictured is a green, gender-neutral pattern, but the slipcover that was shipped is a blue sports theme. Nowhere was it said that the pattern may vary, and had I known, I would have bought a plain boppy and chosen my own slipcover, instead of paying an extra $5 for a "bonus" I don't even want.
Not just for nursing...
The boppy has been a tremendous aid for nursing. With the boppy, there is no need for several pillows stacked and propped in ways that will surely slide out of place before the nursing session is over! But the pillow is also helpful for my husband when he holds our (increasingly heavy) son over one shoulder to soothe him -- he can slip the boppy around his waist, and rest his elbows on the pillow to relax his back. The naked boppy is even more convenient because the covers wash and dry faster than the pillow itself -- with two or more covers the boppy is never out of commission for washing.
A MUST have if you plan on nursing!!
I loved the boppy pillow because it allows a nursing mom free use of one or both hands, which was really nice for me since I was drinking so much water during nursing sessions! It conveniently fits around your waist while the baby lies on top of it, bringing him or her to the perfect height for nursing. I didn't have the pillow the first week after my son was born. After receiving one as a belated welcome home gift, my arms and shoulders no longer ached while trying to get my baby high enough to the nursing spot! For first time moms like me I found that breast/nipple soreness was also reduced and then vanished altogether after using the boppy pillow after the first week. It's very easy to clean, I just thow it in the wash with my baby's clothes and tumble dry. It's the BEST invention!!
