not recommended I got this for Christmas, and it's such a cute idea! I was disappointed. I used Twinings tea leaves which may have been too small for the "grates" but they floated out and mingled with the water steeping. The worst thing is the 2nd day i used it, i leaned the tea pot forward to get the last of the tea into my cup- the top of the press fell off and as i'm putting it back together, i realize something is in my mug, reach in and the glass spout had broken off and was at the bottom of my mug. I don't know if the top of the press broke the spout off or if it was contact with my mug. I half-heartedly tried to Superglue it back on, but have decided to take it back and get my money back. This item was definitely a disappointment and not worth the purchase. If any buyers do want a tea press, maybe trying the kind with a smaller spout on the body of the pot would be a good idea!
