Customer Reviews of Black Sheep
Farley and Spade's Next Movie... After Chris Farley (R.I.P) and David Spade's first comedy hit, they made another one together called "Black Sheep". Personally I think this movie is as good as Tommy Boy. Farley and Spade have done it again.
The setting starts out in Washington state. Mike Donelly (Farley) is the goofy, lame-brain brother of Al Donelly (Tim Matheson) who is running for governor. Mike can't stop getting into trouble and it makes his brother look bad as he tries to win the election. So, Al comes across Steve Dodds (Spade) and hires him to watch his brother and keep him out of trouble.
As the two set out to promote Al's canadicy for governor, they get set-up for an arsenal fire by Al's opponent, the current Governor Tracy. So the two are sent out to the woods in the mountains of Washington to hide out. The cabin they stay in is falling apart. The roof flies off during a wind and hail storm and a boulder hits the house.
Will Al win the election? Can Mike stay out of trouble? Find out what happens next. This movie is a top choice for any Farley movie lover.
Don't compair it to Tommy Boy!
The reason there are so many bad reviews of this movie is because when people heard that Chris Farley (RIP) and David Spade were making another movie together, they were expecting the comic genius that was Tommy Boy. This is not Tommy Boy! You can't expect Chris and David to do the same thing in every movie or it will very soon become routine. Chris's Mike Donelly character is a little less dimwitted than his Tommy Boy character and David's Steve Dobbs character is a little more dimwitted than his Richard character. But, I will say this, Farley and Spade proove once again that they are the best comedy team since the Three Stooges. Sure this movie has it's flaws, but it's worth a look.
I certainly laughed!
I must start this review by saying that I love David Spade and
Chris Farley* because they are just HILARIOUS together! This movie is about a man who is trying to make his brother win in the gubetorial election in the state of Washington, but the brother (played by Farley) is such an embarrassment that he is asked to keep down low and campaign in a county where there are forests everywhere with Spade. There are many laughs because of the two actors. I don't think it would be nearly as funny if any other two actors were picked for the parts. Worth a watch! A funny flick!
*it's so sad that he overdosed because he was a comedic legend. 33 is too young. There is a Chris Farley Foundation that educates you about drugs started by his family (chrisfarleyfoundation.org).
