Customer Reviews of Bittersweet Storm (Starlight Romances)
Bittersweet After her father gambles away their home and posessions Althea and her father live above a cousin's shop while her father grows ill and eventually dies. But before her father's death she learns that she is to marry the man whom won her childhood home, a man named Grant Whitmore, and of jewels her father has hidden for her so she has some comforts of her own. Upon her father's death Althea makes her mind up to go to her former home instead of waiting for Grant to send for her. Their first meeting is anything but calm. She learns her future husband has a bad leg and is slightly cool towards her. Eventually they marry shortly afterwards, living as man and wife only in name, keeping a cool distance between the pair until Grant's family comes for an unexpected and unwelcomed visit. They play the part of a loving couple for his family. After his father has a stroke Grant's Aunt and stepmother end up staying longer. Althea is subjected to several falls and a man who leans of the jewels. While dealing with Grant's young step-mother who is in love with Grant and was once married to his brother, Althea begins to fall in love with Grant. Along with several other family secrets, there are a few other subplots along the way. <

>In all this was a good book although rather light on the romance. Somethings I wish there had been a bit more but otherwise this book was rather interesting. It was one that I read in one sitting, in only a few short hours. <
