Customer Reviews of Billy Blanks - All New Tae Bo Boot Camp Elite
great freedom and great workout I've been going to Bally for over 5 years. They have similar boot camp led by an instructor for an hour to 1.5 hour. Bally has fixed and straight schedule. And the class is usually full and crowed with 20-40 people. <

>Billy Blank's DVD let me do it whenever I can in my own room. I don't have to fight traffic after work to Bally anymore. The bonus is when I have to travel for work, I can bring it with me and play it on a laptop, too. Sweet! <

>The intensity is about the same as Bally. Billy Blank may be more focus on the Deltoid and Shoulder. He probably thinks when you see a better upper body of yourself, you will stick with the routine. So, the idea is good. Leg exercise is a bit lacking. Nevertheless, it is a very good start on cardiovascular workout. Damage on join is less then Steps or running. It is very close to swimming when you use resistance band. <

>Liked many other said, I don't like the bands come with it. It is worthwhile to get your own bell by a third party or get 2 dumpbells. 5-12 lb weight is about right, depending on your condition. Newbie might want to start light with 2 bottles of unopen V8. Each bottle is about 2 lb and the weight is free. After the work out, you can drink them. :) The key difference between belt and weight is that belt has progressive resistance for each motion. Weight has fixed resistance. I prefer belt and buying new belts every few months. Belt wears out; weight last very very long. Just checkout your grandpap's garage whom think he once was superman. :) <

Not Billy's Best/Worse
I've done TaeBo on and off for 10 years back to the original tapes. So when I found this on closeout at Big Lots for under twenty bucks, I decided it would be a good investment. I love tricking my muscles by doing different things. I strength train with weights, job once or twice a week for 3 miles, and from April thru October I try and ride my cylce 30 miles a week. So I'm in pretty good shape to start, but this workout can be challenging.

>You start with mission one and its a good but not killer workout. I think the entire workout is 50 minutes from startup to cool down. While you will sweat, this isn't a killer workout. I find myself doing some of the exercises in doubletime the entire time, instead of going slow thru the first two sets. I will say this workout has helped me become fore flexible and I've noticed it in my kicks and balance. Its a good workout and you can do the bonus 8 minutes for additional workout.

>Mission two is a tought workout even for me. I've found out by tying knots in the bands, it made it much harder than before. I don't believe this to be a high cardio workout, and you might burn more calories in the first mission. Still it is a challenging 40 minutes with an additional 8 minutes as well. On days where i've done nothing, I actually do both mission 1 and 2 together for a killer killer workout!

>Disc 3 is an ab blaster and its has really firmed me up. Even when I eat foods that bloat me, I can see and feel a big difference. I've really enjoyed how Billy targets the abs.

>Overall I give this series a 3.5. I would have liked to seen a killer 50 to 60 minute workout, but thats not the case. I've recently ordered the TB2 Ripped series from Amazon, that according to reviews is the toughest hardest workout Billy has. One of the workouts is over 60 minutes and I hope this is what I'm looking for. The production value on disk two is let me say horrible. Billy is all over the play and fumbles over his words and his power bands. Time after time we get to see the lovely Shelli while Billy is trying to adjust his bands. They will be counting 6, 7, 8, and Billy will yell one more time on like count 6. So when they get to 8 and start over, Billy says great job while they are on like count 2 or 3 of the new set. I found this amuzing and annoying at the same time.

>Overally I like this series, but its not Billy's best. It could have been better.

My my my
Well, I'm not a bootcamp fan. For those looking for a good CARDIO workout, this certainly is not. It's not well managed, the bands can be extremely painful (think ripping out hair by the roots!), and the heart rate will not go up. The arm work burns the shoulders, but the pressure is too light to do any of the other muscles any serious good.

>If I had it to do over again I would not buy this set, and I will NEVER do the ab video again. I stopped midway b/c the bands were so painful.
