Priceless
As a seminarian preparing for the Ministry of Word and Sacrament I find this publication a priceless addition to my bookshelves. Not only is it visually stunning and always a pleasure to look at, the scholarship is inspiring. Although certainly challenging if you view the Word as innerrent, this publication will begin wonderful conversations and debates.

Not for conservatives
While I can agree that the magazine is visually appealing with interesting topics, I find the liberal scholarship to be too much of a negative to endorse the magazine. I happen to believe that the Bible doesn't just contain truth, it is true. Generally, the authors of the articles in BR don't have that same standard. To them the Bible is a mixture of truth and myth, something I just can't agree with. I am very dissapointed because I thought that it would be a great asset to my research as I prepare sermons. Still looking for a good conservative Biblical Journal.

A Catalyst for Studying the Word
Bible Review is easily the most accessible, easy to read, and user friendly magazine for those who are curious about the Bible, but find most such resources intimidating. Purposefully eclectic, the magazine tryings to stir up the pot and tease the mind into active thought about the Bible. It is highly successful in doing so, and has done various faith communities a good service in helping their people move beyond Biblical illiteracy. The editing and art are superb, and the articles are always interesting and readable. Bible Review respects the capacity of the reader to think through and critically reflect on a whole panoply of Bible related issues. I can think of no magazine I would rather share with someone with whom I wanted to start a conversation about the Bible. Sell the old car and subscribe to this magazine!
