Customer Reviews of Bebe Sounds Remote Fever Monitor
this works great! ALL RIGHT PEOPLE, FOR THOSE NEGATIVE WRITERS FOR THIS COOL PRODUCT IS A MONITOR NOT LIKE A REAL THERMOMETER. THIS PRODUCT ALLOWS YOU TO HAVE A LITTLE PIECE OF MIND WHEN YOUR CHILD IS SICK. IT WILL CHIRP WHEN THE FEVER IS TO HIGH, AND THAT CAN BE DEADLY IN CHILDREN IF NOT TAKEN CARE OF QUICKLY. I HAVE YET TO HAVE BAD READINGS AND IT DOES WORK IN THE RIGHT WAY. I CLIP MY DAUGHTERS TO THE INSIDE OF HER PJS OR HER UNDERWEAR. I MAKE SURE ITS NEXT TO THE SKIN, AND NOT ELSE WHERE. ONE MORE POINTER, PEOPLE SMALL KIDS SHOULD HAVE THEIR TEMPS TAKEN RECTALLY AND NOT ELSEE WHERE.
I LOVE this monitor
I've used this monitor the last 4 times my daughter has had high fevers. Each and every single time it has sent me an alarm when her fever got over 101. So I would go in and medicate her, and go back to sleep.

>It never sent a false alarm, and never "missed" a time when she did have a fever.

>In fact, once we were at the pediatrician's office, and they took her temp in her ear (duh- those don't work at all!!!) and it said "97" and I said "that's not right, her monitor says 102!" (had dragged her out of bed, so it was still on) Well they redid the temp and it said 103. So the monitor was right (add a degree for skin temp).

>As far as accuracy goes, it says right on the package that it might be off by a couple degrees, since it's measuring skin temp and not core temp. So you have to keep that in mind. You do get to set the alarm limits though. So set it to 99, and it'll alarm before the actual temp gets to 101 or so. It's not exact- not MEANT to be an exact measurement. Just a range for monitoring. It will tell you when the temp is going UP but not exactly what it is. SO you have to have another thermometer to get exact readings.

>I wish I had this for when my first daughter had her chronic ear infections and fevers. I sure would have rested easier!

>As far as safety goes, I'm a nurse intern AND a mom and I know kids will usually wake you up when they're not feeling well. Even babies. This just tells you a little sooner so you can give them medicine so it doesn't get worse. It won't save a life, and doesn't take the place of checking on them, but it did let me sleep a little easier between doses! There's no danger here...anyone using it should be up to check on their sick kid anyway. This is just to keep them comfortable between doses of medicine- to tell you "hey it's time for more motrin" even though the tylenol hasn't worn off yet (if your alternating doses). Nobody should trust technology over their instinct, no matter what device you're using. Keep that in mind.

>This is by far the best "baby" purchase I ever made. Over and above the swing, bouncer, exersaucer, anything!
Great way to monitor a fever!!!
This is a great way to monitor you child's temperature! The thermometer was very accurate- I checked it against 2 other ear thermometers we have and it was within 0.5 degrees of the others. I was sorry to hear that others did not share my thoughts on the thermometer. Remember to only use this to monitor a fever- I only use it over night when my daughter is asleep. The parental unit is terrific-no need to wake your sleeping baby!
