Customer Reviews of Bbc Good Food
BBC Good Food Magazine This magazine was recommended to me by a friend who lives in England. I am so glad I took the time to search it out (Barnes and Noble in Las Vegas) and read it. It's truly a cornucopia of all the wonderful British cooking shows rolled into one easy to read and understand magazine. The ideas, recipes and tips are terrific!! Each recipe is rated for ease, too!
As stated, the subscription price seems to be a bit high. I paid $5.95 for my copy and I will continue to read it each month from now on.
Love the magazine, too high subscription price!
I absolutely love this magazine - I was first introduced to it when I visited England last year. I highly recommend getting it, but the subscription price is excessively high, IMHO. I've been able to buy it at Border's stores for approximately $6 an issue. I suppose if it's worth it to you to get it delivered for an extra $2 a month, go for it. But I'm one of those weird people who thinks a subscription to a magazine should be cheaper than newsstand. :)
Though the only complaint I have about the newsstand issue is that the latest one I bought mentioned that I got a free wooden spoon when buying - only there wasn't one. Hopefully if you get the subscription you would also get the freebies, but I wouldn't count on it.
And things like courgettes and capiscum don't bother me - but it did take me a while to figure out what caster sugar was! And where to find it. But overall a fantastic magazine, I can't wait to get the Christmas issue!
(PS - even though the review states I live in MD, I was able to buy this magazine off the rack in NC, so not just able to get it because I live in a metropolitan area)
Mistake
I just wanted to clear up a common misconception. We don't call bell peppers capsicums in the UK, we call them peppers... green peppers, yellow peppers, red peppers... and just peppers.
Here are some real differences...
courgette = zucchini
swede = rutabaga
coriander = cilantro
Thanks.
