Bad Santa with extended scenes
I am going to assume most people reading this already know the movie Bad Santa, and are wondering what is different between it and Badder Santa.

>The difference is actually minimal, with some extended scenes that really do not add much if anything. It's not any funnier, only a bit more risque, and in my opinion less enjoyable. The sections they cut out simply did not work, unless, for example, you like seeing someone smashed brutally between two cars until his ribs were broken, and then electrocuted after the driver complained she didn't get enough of a running start. It's not funny; it's just ugly.

>In the event you have not seen the movie, I could repeat the obvious and say it uses a lot of foul language and is iconoclastic, to say the least. It is nowhere near the most offensive movie ever made, which you might get the impression of by reading some reviews. Despite constant foul language and the image of a degenerate Santa, I do not think this movie will be upsetting to most people. It is a little uneven, with some scenes being hysterically funny and witty, and others just being ugly and not terribly amusing. However, what makes this movie work is the acting, and it is an exceptionally well cast movie. Billy Bob Thornton should have been nominated for an Oscar (not like they ever would for this type of movie, but ...) for doing such a wonderful job in making this character coarse and likeable at the same time. He is just so natural in playing the part, and it makes the movie work. Tony Cox's comic timing and looks of scorn and disgust are unparalled, and he provides most of the comedy in the movie. John Ritter turns what probably should have been a nothing part into an interesting role as a squeamishly funny store manager. Even Bernie Mac as the bizarre store detective works pretty well.

>I do recommend this movie, but in the Bad Santa rather than Badder Santa form. This is just a somewhat badly edited version that was obviously improved upon for the theatrical release. I doubt seriously they did the editing for reasons of the rating, it just flows better without the extended scenes of this version and they add essentially nothing but ugliness. If there were even one section that was included in this version that was funny or added something important, I would recommend it. But, to me, there simply wasn't.
