Misleading picture
I just purchased this booster for my 19 month old. It arrived today and is the perfect height for her. The straps to hold the seat to the chair work great. The problem is that there are no straps to keep her in her seat safely. The picture shown on this website is of an older model. Luckily I called Baby Bjorn directly and they have leftover straps to send me. The seat has slots in it for straps. Amazon should update their photo. Just wanted to warn parents who were looking for a seat that would have straps.

cleanest thing in my house
I purchased this item at the BRU store and did have to sift through the seats on the shelf to find one with a lap strap. I have to say that this has been a GREAT seat! Very easy to clean and easy to install on a chair. It now takes me about 7 seconds to install it. There is an elastic loop at the back of the booster seat. You feed the loop through the back of the kitchen chair and bring it under. Thread the strap that secures the booster seat through the loop and attach it to the latch at the other side of the booster seat. Then tighten and you are done. It's one piece of plastic with no hiding places for food. My kitchen chair is larger than the booster so the seat of my kitchen chair does catch some of the crumbs. I usually just wipe the booster seat and the part of the kitchen chair that is exposed at each meal. Once a week I remove the booster seat so that I can clean the kitchen chair. I moved my daughter out of a highchair and into this booster around 15 months. I used the strap until she was skilled enough to get in and out of the chair by herself. I just sat my 11 month old in it today (with the lap strap)she loved it. I am looking forward to getting rid of her highchair (which was also another great product that I used with both of my children ,peg-perego) and getting her her own Baby Bjorn booster seat. I think this is one of the best boosters out there! Buy it! You will love it!
Another thing to note, the only way to keep the lap strap clean is to use a really good bibb. I recomend a large vinyl bibb by The First Years. It has a pocket at the bottom that catches both solid and liquid foods and drinks. It's still large enough to catch all that gets away from my 3 year old and the best part is that you just wipe off or rinse them off. Both of these items will make your life easier!
