Customer Reviews of Baby's First Impressions, Vol. 2 - Colors
Entertaining for both parent and child I would absolutely recommend purchasing the entire set. The videos keep my son entertained for many hours. It's better than hearing him cry. He began watching videos when he was 1 month. Be patient. Infants have a short attention span. If you consistently show the videos everyday your child will learn before you even notice it.
My son is 18 months old now.
Although he cannot say the words red, blue, yellow, green pink brown, orange, black and white he is able to recognize some colors. If I ask him to give me a red ball or a red car he will pick it up and give it to me. If I ask for a blue car or a ball that's what he will pick up. Those are the only two colors he seems to be interested in at this point.
Out of all the videos in the set I think this is the most entertaining for parents. As each color is introduced a different tune plays. For example, "The Blues" plays as the video introduces the color blue. A country type of music plays as the video shows a red wagon and a red barn.
My son has shown more interest in the Letters and Numbers Videos but I play this colors video a lot because I like it and it shows babies taking a nap at the end. When this video ends it's my son's turn to take a nap.
I have also written reviews for other FIRST IMPRESSIONS VIDEOS.
Very good, good for learning colors
The Baby's First Impression series is very good. I didn't get all of the cassettes, but the best were: Numbers, Letters, Colors and Animals (in that order). This is until the age of two, since I don't know about after that yet.
Entertaining and Educational
Our daughter loved this video from the time she was eight months old. At that time she responded to the music and the movements. Now at 18 months she pipes up "lello" and "pink" during the approriate sections. Our son knew all his colors before he was three--in part because of this engaging video. I won't belabor the educational value of this video (and the others in the series), but it's a lot better than mindless cartoons. And I even found that I didn't mind watching it with the kids myself, talking about the different colors and shapes.
