Liquid, for me, was a good choice
Before buying Liquid 7, I read the Avid forum and asked questions. I knew there were problems at that time (in February - around the time of the first review below). My decision to purchase was based on the number of things I could do with it which far exceeded what I could with any other editor I had been using, including Premiere Pro 2 which I had just purchased. Had I known about Liquid 7 before purchasing Prem Pro 2, I would certainly not have purchased Prem Pro 2. I haven't used it since I got Liquid 7. <

>The first review complained about service pack 1. By the time I got Liquid in early March, service pack 2 was out. That's the version I started with. Yes, there were still problems with DVD output but that did not mean that DVDs couldn't be made. I've made numerous DVDs with 7.0 SP2 and 7.1 (Version 7.1 is now available). The realtime abilities of this editor are incredible. Those features alone have saved me countless hours of rendering. I've made 1-hr. DVDs with Liquid 7 in less than 20 minutes. Liquid defines the future of editing
I will start this review by admiting I am a long time user and supporter of Liquid. I also agree that the initial release of Avid Liquid was seriously flawed but Avid is taking steps to reslove all the issues with the program and has a firm committment to its's success. <
