Customer Reviews of Avent ISIS iQ UNO Handheld Electronic Breast Pump
DOESN'T WORK After reading these reviews online, I decided to buy this pump since it seemed like everyone who tried it really liked it. For $150, it is a total ripoff, and didn't work for me at all. It would take me 45 minutes to get more than two ounces, very much hurt my nipples, and was overall a giant disappointment. <

>My suggestion to anyone looking to buy a pump is: RENT ONE FIRST. See what works for you before you buy ANYTHING. I ended up renting one and am now shelling out the $300 to get the Medela Pump In Style Advanced. I have now spent $150 on the Avent (down the toilet), $60 on the rental, and now I am going to have to buy a brand new pump for $300. The ironic thing is, I bought this one to save myself money as it seemed like a good deal for an electric pump. What a waste! <

>What I have learned about this pump is that it is great for women to whom manual expression of milk comes very easily. If that isn't you, DON'T BUY THIS PUMP!
great pump...when it works!
I was hesitant at first to buy a pump so expensive with the risk of it not working. I had first bought the Medela Pump In Style starter kit from the hospital ($30) then rented the hospital electric pump for a month to use with the starter kit. It worked relatively well but wasn't fast enough to get my milk out and was pretty bulky which wouldn't be great to use at work. I manually pumped for a few days which got really tiring but got the milk out faster. I figured if I can use the Medela pump, I can probably use the Avent Isis without any problems.

>So I went ahead and bought this and it worked wonderful at first! I was surprised at how quickly I could get the milk out since I could set my own pattern. Within minutes though, it kept shutting off and having problems remembering my pumping pattern. I called customer service and promptly within minutes, got a return label and an offer to try their newer Isis pump that is still being tested. So despite the problems, I am satisfied with my purchase and hope the newer model that I get to try works even better!

>PROS: Convenient (A+++), more comfortable than the Medela, ability to set your own pace in pumping, great customer service.

<
>CONS: Lots of parts which means more parts to clean, a bit noisy (they say they are working on a newer one that is less noisy), a bit pricey but worth the price.

>Overall the pros outweigh the cons by a lot!! I would suggest to those starting out, to maybe try a manual cheaper pump before getting this one because a pump may not work well for them and it is pricey.
Love at first pump!
I truly don't even know how to begin singing enough praise about this breast pump, so beware this is a long one!

>I have to be honest, I purchased this on a whim because I was going to buy the Medela Pump in Style Advanced. The only reason I didn't was because the salesgirl at Babies R Us told me this was a much better pump for a more reasonable price. I had to agree!

>The only thing that made me nervous about this purchase was the fact that with my first child I used the manual Avent and had many traumatic experiences. What I mean is, I literally would cry each time I had to pump. I would sit down for the task all geared up and would get 3-4 oz out of both breasts combined, but it took 1 hour. I absolutely loathed pumping and got an upset stomach just thinking about it. Therefore, I just wasn't sure that this pump would have enough "juice" in it to do the trick.

>Well, let me tell you, THIS PUMP IS AMAZING! The day I got home from the hospital with our daughter I absolutely had to pump. I was so engorged I thought I might explode. My husband sat with our daughter and watched in sheer awe as I pumped 4 oz out of my left breast in 5 minutes flat. And let me further tell you, it was a darn good thing he was there because I would have overflowed the bottle had he not shouted a cry of warning. I couldn't believe it, I truly thought that this wonderful pumping experience must have been a fluke. But it wasn't! The next day the same thing, and every day that I have pumped after have been joyous, nearly overflowing experiences. I am proud to say that I have been able to build a supply already in my freezer of breastmilk in just one month. Something I was never able to do with our first child.

>I am so very happy I purchased this pump and am recommending it to all of my breastfeeding friends. I hope this helps people out there deicidng what pump to buy because I really was a pumping horror story with my first child and this time I'm overflowing with ease!
