Customer Reviews of Atomic Blue: Mexican Wrestler
A really good indie mexican wrestling movie It's not every day that I come across something like this. A friend recommended that I check out the film. It's a real hoot. At first I didn't know what to think of it. How do you explain mexican wrestling? Then again it's one of those independent types of film that suprises you. It's funny, and cheesy in a good way and has a message. The wrestling is wonderful, not over the top or super violent, don't expect blood, just real wrestling. Some of the scenes are just plain funny or silly. Most parents would be ok with this film, my kids liked it and I think it is enoyable for someone who just can't get enough of wrestling or wants something that comes close to those cheesy old films from mexico. This is an independent film so don't expect a 50 million dollar budget. It's inspired, and looks like the folks who made it took time to come as close as possible to making this film as authentic a mexican wrestling film as possible.
A REAL TICKLER
A nostalgic tribute to the ever popular Mexican wrestling movies of the 50's and 60's. Fast Mexican wrestling action, colorful costumes, and a positive message for kids of all ages. Audience acclaim at various film festivals including the Latino International Film Festival Los Angeles, San Diego Latino International Film Festival, San Antonio Latino International Film Festival
The movie is particularly noteworthy for featuring the music of Los Straitjackets, Viva Malpache, Yeska and El Vez. The score by Phil Pellitier is particularly reminiscent of movies like Repo Man. This movie is certain to become a cult classic; it was well received at all film festivals and is particularly Troma like in its approach to indie filmmaking. This film was shot over a period of two weeks and includes amazing Mexican wrestling shot in and around the underground Mexican wrestling scene of Los Angeles. Stunt choreography and wrestling by the legendary Karl Lauer. Shot by Daniel Kozman and 2nd unit photography by the Director, the film includes enough to entertain and delight the most discriminating of wrestling fans and SCI Fi Cult Horror movie aficionados. Enjoy it like a fine wine!
Piece of you know what
I can't believe I bought this piece of... I'm looking for a fork right now so I can gouge my eyes out. If the director makes a sequel as he says, I'll hunt him down. If this is "mexican justice" I'll never party in TJ again. Jeez.
