Taste the sad I am a big fan and love seasons 1 and 2. I feel that season 3 is somewhat disappointing. I assume that part of the difference between season 3 and the other seasons is that there was pressure to cram a lot of story into only 13 episodes, plus there were some new writers and pressure to make the jokes more accessible to newer viewers. <

Where the previous seasons' jokes were funny because of its inappropriateness, season 3 relied on more jokes that were funny because they were supposed to repulse. I loved watching the reactions of the rest of the characters who were uncomfortable and dumbfounded, so I wasn't as pleased with this change. I also wasn't crazy about how often the narrator chimed in and pointed out or explained the jokes. I felt it would have been funnier with less narration (as in the first two seasons). I guess this is the Arrested Development version of a laugh track to please network executives. <

FOX Executive, "We've made a huge mistake"
While many people will say that this season was just everywhere and sloppy, and ,to a certain degree, not funny, Season three is probly the best season of Arrested Development. The jokes are great, and while the Charlize Theron plotline does run a bit thin, it's still one of the best shows ever. Which brings me to my to my above statement that FOX made a huge mistake. If you guys didn't want other shows to kick tour @$$ during sweeps, then don't put the show on through May, or November. Another thing that got me mad was putting the show on a Monday. You idiots should have left it where it is on Sunday after The Simpson's to get viewers. Like David Cross said on the blooper reel in season two, "If a show is critically acclaimed, wins five emmys in it's first season, including best directing, writing, and comedy, maeby it's not the shows fault that it's doing so poor, maeby it's yours!"

>While ratings are impotant, your leaving yourselves to having shows that are just plain stupid. Arrested is a smart show watched by smart people, and your occasional neutral brained comedy fan that can tell a good show when he sees it. FOX, I guess, is the stupid people's channel that cares more about a show that has too many fart jokes, retarded CIA opperatives, celebrities that no one cares about, Brad Garett as a leading man (as GOB would say, "Come On!"), and nannys (Oh yeah, that makes everyone want to watch FOX). FOX, may your execs burn for their sins, and long live the best show on TV that suffered the stupidity of FOX, the worst station on the planet.
