Customer Reviews of Healthy Care High Chair
Tough-Enough. I've had this chair for more than a year now, and so-far it's holding up beautifully. My son is almost 18 mos. old now, and despite his best efforts, hasn't been able to injure himself on this one. Fisher-Price managed to make a great no-frills chair thats both durable and dependable. I love the lightweight and very easy to clean tray. Both the insert and the base of the tray are easy to clean in the sink. The pad is easily removed to get food crud off of the seat, and the pad surface is pretty stain-resistant. The chair is also light-weight enough to move around pretty easily, even though this model doesnt have wheels.
Tiny-tots will love the upper-torso support you get with the 3-point harness,(a must for your older toddler/escape-artist).
The squeeze release for the chair-back recline feature is much more practical than some other models i've tried. The different level positioning can be fun when you want to bring baby into the livingroom and use the chair for day-time snack, coloring etc...For toddlers, you can remove the tray all-together and push them right up to the dinner table for their own customized seat.
Although I love this chair, I do have a few complaints to Fisher-Price. #1. The ruffle around the seat- I was constantly trying to wipe crud off of the ruffle. I got really annoyed one day and just cut the thing off. Fine now!
#2. The tray releases located on the sides of the tray are a bit too easy for baby to grab, bump, kick. My son managed to kick the tray off twice. (This is why the harness straps are necessary at all times). However, as he got older, my son stopped kicking at meal time, and never bothers with the tray releases.
#3. Really wish mine had wheels!
Other than that, it's a pretty nice and affordable chair.
I did the leg-work for you! This is the best.
I searched online, read user reviews and pulled high chairs off the shelves at various stores to test them out. Because my son was about 6 months old at the time, a reclining option was important to me. Price was not an issue for us when it came to the basics like car seats and high chairs - and this Healthy Chair from Fisher-Price is THE BEST. It has the very easiest recline - one hand while baby's in it - and many others that seemed good online were difficult to recline in the store. The tray is easy to clean, and although I was unsure about the comfort of the vinyl seat cover - it is awesome, my son is very happy in it and it is a breeze to wipe down - and I hate cleaning anything. The straps are a pain to hook up each time, but it's worth it for the security of knowing Baby isn't going ANYWHERE when I turn my back to put the milk away. Because the T-Bar really prevents him from sliding out, I keep the straps slightly looser to minimize the hassle of getting him in and out. This chair is absolutely perfect and believe me, I did my homework. I could have paid more, I could have gotten a fancier brand, this is the one I'd recommend.
Wonderful chair!!
This highchair was given to me at my baby shower and I love it!!! My daughter has been eating in it since 5 months. The three different recline positions are a great help! I also love how easy it is to adjust the height of the chair. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because everytime I pick the chair up I hear click, click, click, click (if you don't pick the chair up in a paticular way, you will start to adjust the height on the chair automatically) But, that is NOT a reason not to buy!!! And the price is great!!
