Another enthusiast from Texas I also would like to leave a note - this egg cup is fine for smaller eggs, but we buy organic eggs which tend to be larger generally, and they are too large for the cup (and no, the larger warming portion is not the correct size either, as it is too large for our eggs). But other than that, I still love them - I just have to buy the smaller size eggs instead of extra large! They are elegant and sturdy - I have an entire set of Apilco dinnerware which was received as a wedding gift and it is so durable that over the past 5 years I haven't chipped one piece! (I have however broken one plate - it hit pretty hard at just the right angle - but I easily replaced it at a local store). Due to the high firing these dishes do not scratch easily either, so the glaze stays smooth making them easier to clean - even dried on food comes off easily. And extra cooked on stuff will come off with a short soak in warm soapy water - I never have to scrub these dishes. I have never used any type of abrasive scrubber, as this does scratch the glaze over time & results in food that sticks. It's also very nice that you can warm food or keep it worm in the oven without worry of any breakage. I highly recommend all of Apilco's products - they are timeless classics - which are as elegant as they are durable, making them extremely practical for the home cook. Well worth every penny.
