Customer Reviews of Angles, Lines & Curves II
Good fusion workout As Ms. Anderson says in the introduction, this workout is a combination of ballet, Pilates and yoga movements to which she's added a little twist. Many of her innovations challenge balance as well as abdominal strength. Although no weights are used, I wouldn't recommend this for a recovery day. Your lower body and abs will be working hard here.
As a yoga and Pilates instructor, I am always looking for new things to teach that will challenge my students. I've used much of this innovative choreography here with great success. Some of my (and my students') favorites are the Active Moving Cat on One Arm and the adaptations of the Pilates Side Kicks Series.
Of the eight sections of the workout, most of it is spent on the floor. If you're looking for more standing yoga or dance movements, this isn't necessarily the tape for you. However, it would be a good compliment to something like Petra Kolber's BREATHE, another fusion workout which is all standing.
Although I enjoy this workout and find it challenging and creative, it falls short of five stars because I don't feel that it flows very well. As mentioned above, the workout is divided into eight sections. The breaks, although probably clocking in at twenty seconds or under, seem long. Also, the physical transitions from section to section aren't as smooth as they could be given the nature of the workout.
Overall though, this is a great addition to someone's fusion collection.
Outstanding!!!
This is such an awesome workout video. I love to use this workout on "in-between" days - that is, days in between my strength training workouts when I don't want to use weights, but still want to get a good workout. What I love about this video is its combination of toning, yoga, pilates and dance. It has a very fluid feel to it, wonderful, relaxing music and it is quite challenging! Kari Anderson is a wonderful and inspiring instructor which such beauty and grace - she is truly an inspiration. I highly recommend this video!
