Emily bezar....and the trinity of the piano goddess!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Emily is the third in the trinity of the piano goddesses.Emily,Kate,and Tori are the glory of piano,soprano heaven.Emily has studied both voice and piano for many years in high school and colledge.Emily is very educated in both the subtlties and the complexities of classical piano and soaring soprano.Her albums show off her musical knowledge very well,.Emily's albums are so good,that if that was all there was to it,then that would be enough.Emily proves time and again that her work surpasses just great playing,and singing.What really puts Bezars music up there with Tori and Kate,is the genius of it.The genius of her music,is its composition and her lyrics,which are that of a great poet.She composes songs with complex chord structures,which in her hands, can sometimes still sound simple.Close your eyes when you listen to angel's abacus and let those magical lyrics transport you into her imagination through your imagination.The lyrics on angel's abacus vary from her most acessiable yet to somewhat esoteric.I just got this cd from amazon and have listened to it 5 times in 3 days.I would give this cd 8 stars if I could.8 for infinity,because that's how long I will be playing this cd.

A 6-star album
First off, I have to admit I am an unconditional fan of Bezar's music, and have been following her steps ever since I downloaded one of her songs on Audiogalaxy in 2001. I fell in love right away and found myself purchasing her first three solo releases, which will always rank among my favourite albums of all times. <

Stunningly, achingly gorgeous
Angels' Abacus is perhaps Emily Bezar's best and most accessible album to date. It's long and so takes a while to absorb, but it's well worth the time it takes to let the music sink in. These are lovely electronica-laced jazz-art-pop songs with Emily's signature classically-trained vocals. Some tracks sound like they could fit on "Moon in Grenadine;" others like they could have been on "Four Walls Bending." The faster tracks are pop made art; some of the slower ones, including the haunting "Escaliers des penitants" are poetry made sound. There are songs of many textures and layers, hues and shades. But some of the album's most beautiful moments are wordless sonic textures. Together they create a beautiful aural landscape, one you can get lost in for an hour and happily return to over and over again.
