Customer Reviews of Anatomy For Artists - Volume 1: The Human Form
Excellent Teaching Tool I teach sculpture and anatomy at the local community arts center and I find it very helpful to review this video with my students at the beginning of the semester. I'll also refer to this program as anatomy questions arise. The choice of model was particularly good for muscle definition. Every aspect of this program is clear and well organized. Teaching at a community art center I also appreciate the how the model is attired in a brief swimsuit which avoids the risk of offending students. I endorse this program whole-heartedly.
Great Reference DVD
I have collected a number of books on art anatomy, but this video helped to bring the subject to life. This DVD starts from the neck and methodically works it's way down to the feet, combining video of the live model along with classic anatomy illustrations. The ability to see the muscles as illustrations and then to see them in action just helped to reinforce the material.

> I would recommend this DVD as a great introduction to the subject and a reference for students to come back to again and again.
Very Poor
Very poor quality, the DVD shows sketch-like examples of myoskeletal drawings as you find in older anatomy for artists text book. Models are only shown for a few seconds, and with bathing suits, such that the muscular anatomy cannot be explained. Save your money, the DVD is very poor quality, it looks as if a VHS was burned to DVD.
