Customer Reviews of American Association of Retired Persons Membership - Ages 50
Whatever happened to those Grey Panthers? I was surprised that no one had reviewed this fine mag. This is a bible (OK, not the King James version) for older folks. You know I've always thought that we get the most information in High School. Now it's not good information and little of it is correct and even less of it is useful. But we are constantly bombarded by it. As we get older, we get less and less. Now the tradeoff as we age is that a lot of the info, or the 411 as the kids say, is right. Less information, more accuracy. <

>Trouble is, you retire and live at home, function well, not everything works like it used to but you exercise once in awhile, keep the blood flowing, cut back on the cigarettes and the Jack Daniels, but suddenly for the first time in 60 years, you aren't getting any information. Because no one is talking to you. I mean they're taliking to you but they're not telling you what you can do, what you can eat, when it's time to stop driving. <

>So AARP the Magazine provides a lot of . . . . dare I say it . . . the 411. Here's an average index: Live Longer At Home; See better, hear better; The Alzheimer's Test. Good stuff. Good, easy to read (and easy to find the purpose) Ads, and in my copy, last month's September-October, a great picture of Shirley Maclaine in 1955. Highly recommended. Get it from your local Public Library. 5 stars. Larry Scantlebury
