Customer Reviews of All for You
Janet gets another hit! Although news reports say that her upcoming album may be as sexy and controversial as the Velvet Rope, this song is as care-free and as laid back as you can get. It already made history by making it onto every pop, hip-hop and dance station in the country during it's first week, and now the video is on TRL daily. For fans of Doesn't Really Matter, this is the song for you. The first track is the album version. Janet's vocals work very well with the song, and the lyrics provide almost no profanity (Besides the "Nice package alright/Guess I'm gonna have to ride it tonight line) and is a perfect song for both kids and adults alike. The next track is the video version, which has the extra dance break near the end. Since the song is different in no other way, it shouldn't be a highlight, but it is. The song brings back memories of the video (In which everything is made out of cardboard) which is definately one of her best, right up there with Together Again and If. I truly cannot wait until her new album comes out. I'm sure it will be a runaway hit! Janet has always been a pioneer of not just music, but videos and entertainment as well. I'm sure she will not dissapoint.
Got the cd early
Writing this on April 20th. I got the Janet cd early because a store in my neighborhood started selling it early. It's a good cd, somewhere between 93's Janet and 97's velvet rope. My problem with the velvet rope was that it followed the same formula as janet. Almost every song on the VR had a similar song on janet. Got till it's gone = That's the way love goes, I get so lonely = anytime anyplace and so on. Not so with this album. It goes it's own route and comes off nicely. I don't really care for the first song, i don't know why, maybe it will grow on me, but it gets better from there. I like every track from 3 to 11. I haven't really listened to the rest of it yet cause I want to take my time and enjoy it. I think their using some knew production techniques cause the cd gives my stereo a sound I didn't know it possessed. Anyway. It's janet. If you are a janet fan, you are going to like it. so when it comes out on the 24th, go buy it. Got it? Good. Peace.
love the song
I love the song All For You! Although it's not exactly an innovative song, it's a fun party song to dance to and it's really groovy. It was #1 for 7 weeks and one of the biggest songs of 2001 as well as one of janet's biggest hits ever. The album didn't live up to the hype, musically, it was a weak effort on janet's part, but all for you is one of the songs that really stood out on the album.
