Customer Reviews of Air Strike
Overall a good DVD, but watch for the details.... I purchased this DVD after reading the review that mentioned a heavy emphasis on Russian fighter jets and also due to the 240 minute runtime. Unfortunately these two descriptions were wrong. "Airstrike" has a run time of 120 minutes instead of the claimed 240 in the technical section. Also, the claim that this DVD has a heavy emphasis on Russian fighter jets was misleading. The only Russian aircraft that was shown in any detail was a quick overview of the MIG 29. Despite these flaws, I enjoyed the DVD itself. "Airstrike" covers quite a variety of aircraft throughout the 120 minutes of run time. Picture quality was also a plus with clips of older footage combined with sharp, clear, and up to date shots of several different aircraft. This DVD is seperated into 2 "1" hour features: "Air to Air" and "Air to Ground." Along with the coverage of different aircraft is a descriptive naration that was easy to understand and follow. Jets that were covered were: F-16, F-18, F-15, F-117, B-2, B-1, F-22, F-4, F-104, JAS-39, MIG-29, Mirage, and several others. Along with these aircraft are several descriptions of the weapons systems used on these aircraft - air to air weapons and air to ground weapons. The only drawback of covering so many different subjects in a short amount of time is the lack of depth that goes into each fighter jet and weapon system itself. Those who are used to a program that is dedicated to one single aircraft might find this DVD lacking depth or substance.
In the end, I would recommend this DVD to anyone in search of a program that discusses a wide variety of different aircraft and weapons. A more hard core aircraft enthusiast might already be familiar with a fair share of the information that is highlighted in this DVD. For the price, I don't think it's a bad deal at all.

This title is excellent. Video is very crisp and vivid. One of the more recent referencaries on militaria. This is in a heavy emphasis on Russian fighters. This isn't a Jane's reference on DVD. An overview of capabilities, some subject may find little new information.
